I Love The Rain

Woke up this morning with heavy rain smashing against the bedroom window. It was still dark despite the time being 9 in the morning. I really didn’t want to get out of bed. Cold and comfy was the feel and my body was already tired from the hard work the day before. Spent the whole of the previous day helping my brother out in the fields. He was harvesting his crop and asked for my help, which I gladly agreed. He’s my brother after all and if I didn’t help, who would?

In the end, after lazing about under the covers for another hour or so, I got myself out of bed and went through the routine of getting ready and dressing up. Breakfast was a bit late. Could be considered brunch I guess, except that I would be having lunch later on that’s for sure. Lunch is the best meal of the day for me, everyday. I never had much for breakfast nor dinner, and sometimes even skipped the last meal of the day. But lunch is the one for me. Sounds like I could have Spanish blood in me, since I’ve read that they always had a huge lunch before taking naps and then leaving for work again for the rest of the night.

I remember my mom always telling me to eat well for every meal, and that breakfast was the most important of the day. But I never could leave home with a heavy stomach. It made me want to visit the washroom straight away on arriving at work. Then I would have to spend another half an hour sitting down on the seat and waiting for things to clear up, not exactly the best way to start each and every day in the office. Especially if the boss had something waiting for you on the desk to be completed in quick time.

Anyway, I had a great lunch with a mixture of Japanese and Korean. Somehow I have a soft spot for Asian cuisine, but not too much of it. If you have too much Korean food, for example, you better make sure to have lots of breath mints handy because of the amount of garlic they have in just about every dish. Nothing bad about that since it helps to clear toxins in the body from what I’ve heard. But not exactly a good situation to be caught in when you have a corporate meeting thereafter.

The day ended quite well and so was the rain. It went on the whole day and I can expect a nice cold comfy bed again when I crawl back into it later. I love the rain, no matter how depressing it might make things for so many people.
